When
someone ask me why we need to live together and why we cannot live alone as we
are born alone and we will die alone; only thing comes in my mind is my first
social science lesson “Man is a social animal”. It’s not about living together
or alone makes any difference but it’s the feeling of togetherness which
creates the difference.
Feeling
togetherness with your close ones amid of natural beauty is a memory which
imprints forever. Being true to my aforesaid statement about man being a social
animal, I proclaim myself to be one of those animals. And I also have my share
of togetherness. It was not long back when I felt this awesome feeling of togetherness.
I am in Mumbai for last 10 months and just like all other central region guy I
began my stay in Mumbai from hating the city and now I am completely in love
with it. After roaming city in day light, we all decide to have a night out at
Marine drive. After attending a farewell
party we proceed to our destination and nature starts playing his part.
From
a dry windy day to a heavy drizzling night, we taste the mood swing of nature
and to be very honest I was enjoying the rain. It was making me feel alive. We
reached Marine Drive at 9.30 completely drenched with a wind blowing across us.
Many of us give up the idea of the spending the night as they were afraid of
the thundering and rain. While on the other hand I was oblivion to this
discussion. For me it was me, sea, rain and wind. Suddenly I heard a beautiful
song sung by Lata Mangeshkar ji “Ajeeb Dasta hai ye” I turned around and saw my
friend is singing it. Unlike the other friends who were busy in cracking jokes
and making plans to return she was quite serene. Her eyes were glued to the sea where all we
can see was black water getting blue for a fraction of second when lightning
reflects on sea surface. She was singing flawless.
Instead
of making her realize that I was noticing her signing I started singing slowly
with her (it was because I don’t want add my 8th note to her 7 note
music). I knew the lyrics of songs she was singing and then we keep on singing
old songs which not only have in depth lyrics but also posses mesmerizing
melody. One of our friend was having no clues about the songs we were singing
but she was also enjoying (it was due to the fact she was listening my friend’s
voice not mine). We finally ended our small singing session with my all time
favorite song “Mera Kuch Saman”.
Though
she is a very good friend of mine we never share any personal stuff with each
other and in fact neither we spoke about this moment as well. When we were
signing the songs while looking the endless sea I literally forgot who are
sitting around me and where I am seating. People say if you are feeling
togetherness you do not have time for yourself and for me the time we spent at
Marine drive singing melody I was feeling togetherness but I was giving time to
myself. At last I just want to say
thanks for my friend Rashmi to make that moment special with her awesome
singing and making sure no one heard me singing. Stay blessed always.
